Eren Kaplan was born in 1993 in Adana, Turkey. She started learning the piano at the age of six through private tutoring. In 2002, at the age of nine, she joined Cukurova State Conservatory. Displaying noticeable talent and progress in her early years of music, she received a special invitation to join Mimar Sinan State Conservatory in İstanbul. Then continuing her musical studies in Mimar Sinan State Conservatory with Prof. Metin Ülkü between 2004, graduating in 2010 with first class honours.

 

During her studies at Cukuroya State Conservatory, she worked with composer Ali Darmar and pianist Ayşegül Sarıca in order to enrich her repertoire and artistic skills. Receiving further valuable advise from artists Arın Karamürsel, Hüseyin Sermet and Gülsin Onay through master classes and private lessons.

Following an audition in Academy of Music Hanover in 2006, Eren received an invitation from Prof.Karl Heinz Kammerling to join his master-class in Germany. As the youngest participant to the programme she had the chance to work extensively with the renowned piano pedagogue. She made her concerto debut at the age of 14, playing W.Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concerto K.V.467 no.23, accompanied by the İstanbul Philarmonic Orchestra.

 

Eren Kaplan recorded a CD for EMI in 2008, a solo piano album called “ Kids World” by Turkish composer Çetin Işıközlü. The recording marked a first in Turkey since it was the first classical music project that has been awarded with a Unicef logo. The CD was introduced in Istanbul, at Notre Dame de Sion concert hall, where she performed and garnered rare reviews from the press gaining coverage in media and TV nationwide. After her first recording and the following success of the CD, she participated in several live TV and radio programmes.

During her undergraduate studies in İstanbul, she took part in various recitals and concerts with chamber musicians, and contributed to the school orchestra as a soloist. Her further studies allowed her to also take part in Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar University Drama Department theatre projects as an accompanist and music director.

She has recently completed her undergraduate studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with honours. Currently, Eren is continuing her musical studies at Trinity under the tutelage of Hilary Coates focusing on the Romantic and Classical periods and perfecting her art of performance.
